Spotlight for Las Vegas, NV
Commonly called Sin City, Las Vegas is easily one of the most popular travel destinations for both domestic and international visitors. The self-proclaimed Entertainment Capital of the World is an amazing resort town that, over the past decade, has become known for world-class shopping, nightlife, gambling and dining.
In addition, the numerous offerings of adult entertainment really allow the city to live up to its nickname as Sin City.
The Las Vegas Strip, which is right along Las Vegas Boulevard and is approximately 4.2 miles long, is home to most of the well-known entertainment attractions that have made Las Vegas so popular. The street is lined with massive, billion-dollar hotels that house thousands of luxurious rooms and enormous casinos that give visitors the option of never leaving some of these monstrous compounds. Wynn Las Vegas, developed by Steve Wynn, is one of the more recently-completed properties that not only has luxurious accommodations and an accompanying casino, but also has a completely remodeled 18-hole golf course, only offering tee times to guests of the hotel. In addition, it boasts an impressive shopping area with the highest-end couture boutiques from all over the world, including Chanel, Cartier, and Alexander McQueen, among others.
Bellagio, another well-known and commonly visited resort, is home to some of the most brilliant dining options from international renown culinary artists. Olives, a Mediterranean restaurant that was founded by celebrity Chef Todd English, offers menu selections from Italy and all over the Mediterranean. The popular New York restaurant, Le Cirque, has moved West to Las Vegas and found a home in the opulent Bellagio as well. Founded by well-known restauranteur, Sirio Maccioni, the AAA Five Diamond rating makes the French cuisine and accompanying wine selections a "must hit" for many of the foodies visiting Las Vegas.
For the younger crowds that visit Las Vegas and are looking to put the "sin" in "Sin City," there are countless nightlife options as well. Most of the resorts on the strip contain well-known nightclubs that draw huge crowds, celebrity clientele, and demand the visitors to wait in long lines unless you know the "guy at the door." Tryst at the Wynn Las Vegas, LAX at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, and JET at the Mirage are a few of the trendy places to see and be seen.
While Las Vegas has recently grown at an exponential rate, it continues to offer innovative attractions that keep people coming back year after year. Once known simply as America's gambling mecca, Sin City now offers endless world-class options that can keep any type of traveler occupied for days on end.
